2. Pre-Flight Preparations
2.1 Preparing the Aircraft
• Download App
Editor, QuickTransfer, and other functions require the DJI Fly app.
• Remove the Storage Cover
Unfasten the strap and remove the storage cover.
• Activate the Battery
Press the power button once to activate the aircraft battery and check the battery level.
Charging Method:
① Ensure the intelligent flight battery is fully charged before each use. It is recommended to connect the aircraft to the official DJI charger via the USB-C port for charging.
② Use the charging hub to charge the batteries.
• Power On/Off
Automatic Power-On: Unfold the right rear aircraft arm, and the aircraft will power on automatically.
Automatic Power-Off: Fold the right rear arm to initiate an automatic countdown for powered-off. During the countdown, press any button on the body to cancel the power
off.
Manual Power-On/Power-Off: Press once, then press and hold the power button for 2 s to manually power on or off the aircraft.
• Attaching/Detaching the Propellers
Propellers are pre-installed upon shipment. If the propeller is damaged or misshapen, please refer to the tutorial video for replacement.
2.2 Preparing the Remote Controller
• Charging: Connect the remote controller to a charger via USB-C port.

2.3 Linking Method
If you purchase an aircraft and remote controller combo, the remote controller is already linked to the aircraft upon shipment. You can use them directly after activation upon powering on.
2.4 Activating the Aircraft
The aircraft needs to be activated via DJI Fly when it is used for the first time. Open the DJI Fly app and follow the on-screen instructions. Please ensure that your device remains connected to the internet during the activation process. After activation, the aircraft will be bound to the remote controller used during activation process by default.
2.5 Firmware Update
A prompt will appear in DJI Fly when a firmware update is available. Update the firmware following the corresponding instructions to ensure optimal flight experience.
2.6 Setting Obstacle Avoidance
Make sure the remote controller is in N mode (Normal). Open the DJI Fly app, go to safety settings, set Obstacle Avoidance Action as Bypass or Brake, and adjust the RTH altitude to be higher than the tallest building or object around.
2.7 Checking Your Device
1. Please remove the gimbal protector before powering on your aircraft.
2. Make sure the battery, the propellers, and the control sticks are installed properly and securely, and the front and rear arms are fully unfolded.
3. Make sure the aircraft and the remote controller have sufficient battery levels.
4. Make sure the satellite positioning signal icon remains white before takeoff.
3. For Beginners
3.1 Flight Policies
Stay informed about the latest information on flight zones, flight restrictions, and requirements before flight. Strictly adhere to them while operating your aircraft.

3.2 Flight Environment Requirements
Although the aircraft supports obstacle avoidance, it is recommended to fly in open areas that have good lighting without obstacles.
▸ Do not direct the aircraft towards people, animals, small objects (such as branches or wires), or transparent objects (such as glass or water surfaces).
▸ Do not fly on rainy or foggy days, or in any other conditions with low visibility (less than 100 m).
3.3 Protecting Your Device
To maintain your aircraft in best condition over time, please take care of important components during use.
Camera: Avoid exposing the camera lens to environments with laser beams (such as laser shows) or capturing objects which have intense light sources (such as the sun) for a long time to prevent damage to the sensor.
Intelligent Flight Battery and Remote Controller: Long-term storage may affect battery performance. To maintain battery health, it is recommended to charge it every three months.
4. Getting Ready for the First Flight
4.1 Takeoff and Landing
• Auto Takeoff and Landing
Takeoff: Tap the takeoff icon on the left, and press and hold the prompt icon to enable Auto Takeoff. The aircraft will take off automatically and hover at a certain height.
Landing: After takeoff, tap the landing icon on the left, and press and hold the prompt icon to land automatically. The aircraft will land automatically and stop the motor.
• Manual Takeoff and Landing
The control sticks can be operated in Mode 1, Mode 2, Mode 3, or Custom. The tutorial video demonstrates the manual takeoff and landing operations using Mode 2.
Takeoff: Start the motor with the left and right control sticks by pushing them toward or away from each other. After the motors are spinning, release your hand and gently push the left stick upward to take off the aircraft.
Landing: Pull the left stick down to land the aircraft. After landing, keep pulling the left stick down until the motor stops.
• Controlling the Aircraft
The control sticks can be operated in Mode 1, Mode 2, Mode 3, or Custom. The tutorial video demonstrates the operations using Mode 2.
Left Stick: Moving the left stick up or down changes the altitude of the aircraft and moving it to the left or right changes the orientation of the aircraft.
Right Stick: Moving the right stick up, down, to the left, or to the right controls the forward, backward, left, or right movements of the aircraft.

4.4 Return to Home (RTH)
The aircraft supports Smart RTH, which can be triggered in three ways: the user proactively triggers, the aircraft battery level is low, or the remote controller signal is lost (taking DJI Air 3S as an example).

6. After Flight
6.1 Exporting Photos and Videos
The aircraft comes with a built-in 42GB internal storage and also supports storage expansion via microSD card.
• Export via QuickTransfer
The QuickTransfer feature allows photos and videos stored in the aircraft or microSD card to be quickly and conveniently transferred to a mobile device (taking DJI Mavic 4 Pro as an example).
• Export via USB-C cable or card reader
Connect the aircraft to a computer using a cable to export photos or videos from the aircraft’s internal storage or the microSD card installed in the aircraft. The aircraft does not need to be powered on during export. You can also remove the microSD card from the aircraft, insert it into a card reader, and export the footage using the card reader.
6.2 Storing Your Devices
Incorrect placement may compress the propellers, resulting in their deformation and a decline in propulsion performance. Watch the video to learn how to store your aircraft.

• Is DJI Mini 5 Pro waterproof?
DJI Mini 5 Pro is not waterproof. Avoid contact with water during use. If it rains during the flight, return and land as soon as possible, and wait until the drone is fully dry inside and out before using it again.
